8.50 tires
Im sure this has already been discussed, but to put on the larger tires I need a different brake disc, to prevent the brakes from rubbing on the tire. I can't find the info on this anywhere, can somebody please tell me what I need? Thanks.
Re: 8.50 tires
Alaskan Bushwheel sells spacers. They are .125" thick each, you will need 4. Give them a call.
Re: 8.50 tires
I am running 8.50s on mine with Cleveland brakes and did not need any spacers. Clearance is close but 4 years later there are no signs of rubbing on the tires.

You may have to use longer through bolts on the wheels to accomodate the spacers used, Many times washers are used for the spacers and seem to work just fine.

F. Atlee Dodge keeps saying they will have an STC for 850s (8.50 x 6) tires "any time now."
I used their double-puck cleveland STC when I moved to bushwheels.

Re: 8.50 tires
If you buy your spacers from AKBW they send 6 new bolts that are long enough, along with new washers and nuts too. They also sell double puck clevland kits for the 170 that are STC'd. I bought both from them back in April.blueldr wrote:You may have to use longer through bolts on the wheels to accomodate the spacers used, Many times washers are used for the spacers and seem to work just fine.
