AVCON Conversion

Post by Glynn »

Can any of you help? I have the AVCON Conversion to the Lyc. 0-360 for my 170. The problem is I can't find the name and number of the guy / shop that is still supporting the STC. I think it's in Porterville. If any of you have the info please post it for me. Thanks in advance. Glynn.

Del-Air in Porterville, CA has a STC and Conversion kit to install a Lycoming 0-360 A-1-A 180 Hp engine in the C-170. The person to talk to is Harry Dellicker, the owner of Del-Air. Del-Air's telephone number is 559-784-9440. According to Hary, their conversion is very simular to Avcon's. Harry is very knowlegable and very helpful. I would recommend contacting him at:

The key word being "similar". Harry Dellicker supports his product (and our association) very nicely. Avcon has been difficult for several folks. (Difficult time getting them to return calls, and sometimes finding them in a foul mood when finally contacted....while others, after finally making contact, find them friendly and helpful. Consistency is not one of their virtues, evidently.
