Does anyone have a source for engine driven fuel pump gaskets for the '48???

You might try Sacramento Skyranch. They used to handle overhaul kits, but that's become a product few suppliers are willing to continue for liability reasons thesedays. http://www.sacskyranch.com

The fuel pump is reported to be the same as an automotive fuel pump. The fuel pump in my 170 was overhauled with an automotive overhaul kit about 20 years ago. I do not know the year and make.

Simply take the fuel pump to NAPA and ask for a gasket to fit. Perhaps you should not mention that it is for an airplane. Some parts houses are somewhat twitchy.
