Now the 64 dollar question- is the Superior (as opposed to Lycoming) O-360 approved on the 180-horse STC's out there? Even though it's pretty much a knock-off, I'm betting no. Maybe Del-Air or someone will add this option to their STC.
Actually, I think that the Lyc O-360 IS approved for cargas in some applications. I believe that it's the situation with small fuel lines & the required (for fuel flow) fuel pumps, etc on the 170 conversion that prevents or at least complicates cargas approval.
What's the price difference between the Superior and Lycoming versions of the O-360?
