Last year I installed new quick-sump drains, and this year they have been a bit sticky (to the point of having to pull them back by hand when draining fuel). I found that there is a bit of something that looks like varnish, and that's obviously a concern. I also noticed that there is a bit of the same on the chain that holds the fuel cap in place. The gascolator/fuel filter bowl drain does not have problem.
Are there any prescribed fuel-tank flush regimens that anyone has tried and liked? I am getting good fuel pressure, but I still want to take no chances of getting any sort of fuel starvation going.

fwiw - the previous owner was using 80 octane fuel, and I still get the occasional bit of red on draining, not sure if the 100LL I am using would contribute, but it's possible.
