How dumb can Kelly be?

This week I placed an ad to sell my 170 after getting it all done like I wanted, all because I thought I wanted a Super Cub. Then I had a photo shoot that took me on a two day trip of better than 1000 miles of backcountry. A cub would have been to small for the load we carried and it would have been too slow to make the trek we made on the first day and the second day was cut short by weather and we would have been disappointed if we hadn't done so well on the first day. Plus I went in and out of the typical crazy small strips and the 170 never let me down. I came right home and took the ads off the web. I can't do any better than what I have and the places I can't go are crazy anyway and they are "want tos" and not "have tos". So I am back among the smart owners of 170's, sorry I faded for a second. I will post some pix from the trip starting tomorrow.

Kelly, idiot for a day!

Kelly, I thought your airplane was pretty nice, even before you glamorized it with that shiny new paint job. Glad you came to your senses, I'm sure you would have been kicking yourself before the ink dried on the bill of sale.

Mike Larson is a Continental pilot I met at Reklaw a couple years ago. He has a C-195 that is polished with red accents. It's very original. He had a very serious "For Sale" sign hung on the prop at the fly-in. It said, "For Sale. $1,000,000.00 Firm". 8)
He can afford a 195 on his salary. I can't.
I can afford a 170. But there's one thing he and I have in common besides polished/red Cessna taildraggers. We will both sell ours for $1,000,000.00.
Firm.

This is the Dry lake Bed at the Alvord Desert. It was as cool as you'd expect and there is no way to take a bad picture.

Here is one from Rogersburg in Hell's Canyon.

We went a lot of places and it was high, hot, short and we had 2 people, alot of gear and fuel and the airplane just does great. I can plan on 120 mph and 7.2 gph with my 7649 prop turning 2525 RPM. My speed went from 118 to 120 mph after painting it.

These 170's do get a lot of attention whereever they go. It took me an extra 45 minutes to get away from LaGrande after getting fuel because of the attention it gathered.

The 170 is back at home in Priest River and will not be For Sale!

Nice pics, kelly! I know where Rogersburg & Alvord are,but never been into them. Went to Owyhee Reservoir a couple years ago & camped out, that was pretty fun. Where is that good looking grass strip on the John Day River? That's the best looking place of all three pics you posted.
I was just looking at my Oregon chart,& I noticed a strip SW of John Day State named "Inshallah",which I understand is arabic for " God willing". Kinda interesting name,I wonder what the strip's like? 8O
Regarding Rogersburg, I guess that one is officially opened up again, but the charts (both FAA & Washington State issue) don't show it. I had to plot out it's locaton by lat/long.
I've heard Alvord can be a real zoo, especially on a holiday weekend. People zooming in & around in airplanes, land-sailers,motorcycles,ATV's, and Allah knows what else!

Just something about a 170. I may have many more airplanes before I die, but I've had my 170 for over 15 years and I'll bet I take it with me.
