Craftsman hand-tool warranty

I'm sure most of us have at least a few Craftsman hand-tools in our collections. Lowes is selling these tools, and although there are reports of some stores turning people away if they didn't buy the tool from Lowes, here is the official Lowes statement on this:
FULL STATEMENT FROM LOWE'S CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS:

"we will honor all lifetime warranties no matter where the CRAFTSMAN hand tool was purchased. We ask that customers bring in the item, and we’ll replace it if we have the product. If we do not have the product, customers can call the Customer Care Hotline (888-331-4569)."
Maureen Wallace, Lowe's
If you've got a Craftsman tool that Lowes doesn't stock, calling that number will result in them creating an account for you under a phone number and eMail address. They will ship you a replacement for the broken tool, and eMail order and tracking numbers.
(NOTE: Several postings on the web, erroneously list a phone number with 883 instead of 888. The 883 number goes nowhere!)

Hopes this helps - good number to keep in your directory.

I gave one of these to Ol’ Gar …. and he’s not been able to break it in almost 8 years….

Well, it is sure comforting that, should he break it, he will be able to get a warranted replacement 8)

Ol’ Gar is in his 80’s; he may very well use the wrench anyway.😉

I bought my first (Craftsman) tool kit in 1976, when I moved too far from home to access Dad’s shop. The only time I ever took advantage of the warranty was a gross case of abuse: I used the 3/8 drive ratchet (and a piece of pipe as I recall) to help a friend change a tire. The ratchet didn’t survive, but the local Sears store replaced it, no questions asked. 40+ years later I still have and use that replacement ratchet.

I worked for Sears in the auto shop while in college. Back then, mechanics showed up with, and used their own tools. It was really handy when I broke a tool in the shop, I could stroll a couple dozen paces inside the store, exchange it, then walk back out with a new replacement and keep on working. Those were the days. I still have a large tool box full of Craftsman tools.

Once upon a time Craftsman was great quality but I believe that has been sacrificed. For sure, the power tools.

The wife bought this recently some where:

Only cheap beer has twist caps. Sam Adams Boston Lager, Bohemia, Guiness, and Negro Modelo is still the old pop-off caps.

Hi George,my cousin and her husband in Germany have a brewery, they have their own label but they also brew under contract to the major labels in Europe. My cousin in LA made up his own label and imported a bunch for his friends. Not sure how it all worked out but with all the micro brewery nowadays easy to do here. Imported beer being the buzz.😂
