Lots of bacon going to waste. The locals in Sabine Parish sell hogs caught in their traps for good money.

Caught live, they are bought by exporters who sell them to Europe, preference given to older hogs. Be careful eating them, however. There is no telling what they have consumed themselves and landowners sometimes poison them and set traps using diesel-soaked corn. Texas Parks and Wildlife has cautions about it.
