Looks like it came off of a Farmall Super C or 300. Gives me a flashback to my young, dumb and stupid days. Now just old...

Yep. The "tab" on the starter-switch is removed by loosening the nut and slipping it off... then re-installing the nut, whereupon the switch appears identical to the one on our pull-starters. A Member contacted me a couple years ago to report that the overhaul facility wanted $85 just to replace that switch.

I have a Farmall C and the starter on it is identical to the one on my '52 B model, except for the mounting flange. The Delco service bulletin (service manual) I have for the starter on the Farmall is also for the part number of the starter for my plane and shows that they are the same. I've replaced that switch on my Farmall, and It's easy - takes just a few minutes. Those switches are also available from NAPA and vintage tractor supply houses for pretty short money (but not as low as George's clearance price).
