Hello All,
I have a rag wing 170. I'm currently having the engine (c-145/o-330) rebuilt. I also decided now would be a good time to have the engine mount gone through at Aerospace Welding in Minneapolis. Anyway, they called today and asked if I could measure the distance from center to center of the upper engine mount holes on the airframe? The technician went to secure the mount to my box I fabricated for the shipment and it was over an inch off. So, he asked if I could measure the holes to see where the error lay. Problem is, I live in the DFW area and my airplane is currently in a hangar 6 hours away. Does anyone have any experience with differences between various models of C170 models in regard to the engines and mounts?
Thanks, Cory

Engine mounts, if not entirely, are all the same when it comes to that measurement. In other word they are all interchangeable between models.

36.25" on center between the two top engine mount holes on my 1952 170B firewall.

Thank you both for the info.
Re: Motor mount help??
I have the original cessna prints for the engine mount, the top mount dimension shows 18 5/32" from the centerline of the drawing and 13 13/16" for the bottom mounts from centerline.

I measured mine on the floor and it is showing 36 5/8". Perhaps it sprung apart when we removed it. I can measure my holes tomorrow when I'm at the hanger.
