The International Cessna 170 Association

Hello everyone!
After a long wait, 26 years - I was finally able to buy back my fathers Cessna 170A (N5466C). It is currently out of annual by a year or so but we secured a ferry permit and my ferry pilot/IA will be flying her home this weekend from New Mexico. Any information on the last few years of ownership would be much appreciated if anyone knew the plane personally. What I understand from the current owner who has owned it for about 2 years is the previous owner took excellent care of the plane but got ill and passed away, record keeping by him was not the greatest but will work on fixing all the paperwork issues when the plane gets here since it will be with me as long as I am able to fly! Look forward to seeing some of you at the fly-ins in the future.

Welcome Elijah, Welcome to the Forums. I love hearing these stories about reclaiming old family assets. Good on you for doing it. You will find a wealth of information here. Elijah, welcome to the 170 Assoc. and the forum. Keep us posted on how the annual process goes and if you have questions. Plus, watch the forum for the next Georgia 170 gathering at Peach State Aerodrome (GA2) west of Griffin, GA. It will most likely be in late May or early June. I am based in Catersville. But if you fly over to Peach State to check the "Grill" look for Todd or Parker Thaxton (N3407D). They can usually be found helping at maintenance training hanger adjacent to the Grill. Jim

Welcome to the association Elijah. Your 170 is as close to my sister ship as I have seen. Apparently, coming off the line right behind 53C. You will spend lots of time here looking for answers AND finding them.
