I can't figure out how to get the seat out. The center supports are loose but the seat isn't coming out. Where is it attached to the airframe? I suspect its behind the upholstery somewhere but can't see it.

There are two An3 bolts under the seat on the sides. They might be covered by the seat upholstery (mine were).
They bolt into a little triangle piece riveted to the side of the plane. You should be able to see those before the bolt heads.

Also if you still have the arm rests back there, the seat will come out easier if you take them out. Usually three screws through the side of the plane holding them on. Be careful to not break out one of your back windows when pulling the seat out.

Vern, it is a whole lot easier once you get it out this time to remove the back seats bolts (where it folds) and put in pins with hair pins so you can remove the back before trying to take the entire seat out. Folding the seat and trying to get it out without bumping into the rear window--as Ed said BE CAREFUL- there will be lots of *^%$$#**^% words the first time. Ron

Thanks to you guys I found the bolts and got the seat out. It will have pins in the hinges before it goes back in.
Thanks everyone

Replacing the seat hinge bolts with pins is definitely the way to go. For size/length, I found that AN394-33/MS20392-3C33 pins with 1/16" x 1 5/16" hitch pin clips worked best, at least for my plane. (I wrote it down so I would remember the size if I ever needed to replace them.)

My seat back is held with a couple of hitch pins -- the kind with the spring-loaded ball at one end and a pull-ring at the other. There are a bunch of such things that'll work, including some with thumb-actuated unlock buttons.
