The International Cessna 170 Association

Hi All
Has anyone installed Alpha Aviation diagonal 3 point seat belts in a 170? Any pros or cons? I was looking at the inertia reel type. I have the Y type shoulder harness without the inertia reel and I have to leave mine loose enough to reach the flap handle.

I have these in my 170A. Easy to install and seem to work fine with one exception. The buckle, which as attached to the short inboard end of the belt is positioned along the side of the seat. When both seats are sled forward you have to be careful not to unlatch one or both belts when you reach back to verify the fuel selector position during the before takeoff or before landing checklist. I picked these over the BAS harnesses based on the cost difference as I do not plan to keep this airplane for the long term. I have had the BAS harnesses with the seaplane buckles in a 170B and a 185F and prefer them over the Alpha Aviation harnesses
