How about sometime in the next couple of weeks? I've got some slack time at work coming up starting late next week.

I was in Texarkana today and ran across these bootleggers smuggling beer up to Mena. Somehow, beer seems to help get airplanes put back together.

I didn't see no real beer either! (but getting beer in that town is a problem, so what they have in that truck passes for beer in Mena!)

Nope, no SPG! With Texarkana being about the only place to buy beer east of Dallas, beggars can't be choosers. They had Pearl Light and Schlitz but had to pass on those. Sticking with 30-can cases makes it easier to transport, important consideration for bootleggers.

Not sure who's the bandit but they both have that career bartender look.

And that is a good thing as some of the comments around here require the replies of one with the wisdom of a Career Bartender, especially helpful when the Blue Leader is off in Idaho.

Well the work on the 170s should progress smoothly, for the next few days anyway, the revenuers were skillfully avoided and the beer made it safely into Del's refrig. The evening at Del's hangar was enjoyed by all.

Arash, they put away the tools and closed the hangar door before raiding the fridge. Check over on my "Road to Recovery" thread in a half hour or so and I'll show some progress they made today.

We did have a great evening. I'm just sorry we let the time slip by, and hope you guys found a decent meal to go with all the hydraulic sandwiches. I forgot to tell you they turn out the lights and roll up the streets at 9pm around here.
Thank you all for the beer! Credit to George Horn for starting the tradition ("There's no Beer in Mena"), and for thanks to him for not being too mad that we didn't warn him it is a dry county  Thanks to George's observation, and subsequent announcement, the support has been overwhelming. Ole Gar even stopped buy on a trip thru Mena a few years ago with some beer. We have considered the "Will Work for Beer" sign, but we are afraid somebody might take us serious

Looks great. Forgive me if I missed it, but what are the colors that were used (and paint process)? I really like the combination.

Del-
We had a great evening! Thank you for providing the opportunity. We drank just the right amount of beer and there should be enough left for a few more de-briefings with the shop guys. We were glad we ate a late lunch so we didn't starve to death. After leaving the airport we went to Cruizzer's Drive-In for burgers and chocolate malts. Perfect ending to the day. We even got entertained late that night with the line of severe thunderstorms that rumbled thru town with torrential rain, thunder, wind, and a little hail. Luckily, the planes were safe in Del's hangar and the tornadoes stopped in Oklahoma.

Del,

The streets weren't rolled up yet, but they had the pins pulled waiting on the traffic to clear. :)

Where's the 'Like' button for that door install?

Is there a lock tumbler hole that's taped over? (Mine simply has a key lock only way to open - not the slick push button opener).

Looks to me like you guys had a great trip!
