I'll take 300HP and just keep the good looking tail on my girlfriend.gahorn wrote:I didn't spend the money for a 180 or 185 because I hate the look of that ugly tail. (Sorry, Frank.)
I had owned a 206 previously. If it weren't for the beauty of round tail feathers....I'd probably still have it....it was a lot better airplane than any 180/185 despite the big wheel up front.

I hope for your sake your girlfriend is not a States Attorney General, if she is you could be in a heap of trouble.Lopez wrote:I'll take 300HP and just keep the good looking tail on my girlfriend.gahorn wrote:I didn't spend the money for a 180 or 185 because I hate the look of that ugly tail. I had serial no. 26, which was an IO-520 rated at 285 HP with a 2-blade McCauley. I preferred that setup over the turbocharged versions because it had longer TBO, and I didn't have the mx problems associated with turbo's. (I almost never went above 12K anyway so it made virtually no difference to my operations other than my fuel burn was 12-13 gph instead of 15 or 16 gph the turboch'gd units burn.)Lopez wrote:[...I'll take 300HP and just keep the good looking tail on my girlfriend.
