Another trip to Alaska. After all my years in Alaska (22) I got tired of not having been to Sitka or Nome. Got only as far as McGrath so still haven't made it to Nome, but found Sitka to be even better than I'd been told ! The only good weather leg we had on the whole trip from St. Maries, Id. to Portland to Alaska and back was the leg from Yakutat to Sitka and it was jaw droping beautiful !!! We got into Sitka about 7:30, just as the sun was getting low and all the colors had gone kind of golden. A sight never to be forgotten. The People were even friendlier than advertised (except for the folks at the Westmark Shee Atica...NOT a recomended place of lodging tho the food was good) and we had a really nice two days. Not enough time, but I will return ! Pete
