Oil Analysis Labs

Post by cessna170bdriver »

For those of you who do oil analysis, what lab do you use and why? I've found four: Aviation Laboratories, Blackstone Labs, AOA, Lab One, but it's hard to determine how any would be any better than others.

Thanks, Miles

I use Blackstone and have been very happy with them so far.

Oil Analysis

Post by CBogle »

Dear Miles:

I've used AOA every 50 hour oil change for years. I have no way to determine how accurate their results are, but, they seem competent and I get the results consistantly within one week of mailing. Results are easy to read and review for trends and they flag anything that does not fall within "normal" parameters.

Regards,

Curt
