Scott 3200 replacement

Post by N2865C »

Scott 3200 tailwheels are now going for around $1600!!! Alaska Bushwheels is making a PMA'd replacement (ABI-3224A). http://www.akbushwheel.com/ that looks promising. It goes for $848 at Aircraft Spruce http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/l ... lwheel.php .
It appears that all of the parts are interchangeable with the 3200.

I believe that kit is the fork kit you get the wide fork big wheel and some hardware. The whole assembly is around $1720. If you spend a lot of time on gravel, I think you'd really like that tailwheel. It takes the shock and rattle out of the tail, and floats goods on sand and soft ground. Or at least that’s what I hear, it’s on my list! http://www.akbushwheel.com/3200TundraTailwheel.html

It was understanding that ABW bought the rights to the 3200 from Scott. ABW is now selling the 3200 for way less than Scott's latest prices--recent Chief catalog sez $938 for the 3200 & $1695 for the baby bushwheel.
Anybody know how much GarAero is selling their fatty t/w assembly for these days? It uses a 400 X 4 tire.
