I replaced both quickdrains on my 52 170B today, and I'm glad I did. The flat seat that the smallest O Ring sits on were both pitted and preventing a good seal. I found it much easier to simply drain the tank, and work in a dry environment. The whole process took less that 2 hours, and turned out drip free.

Internal corrosion is common problem with those. Over the course of 23 years I've replaced a couple of sets when they got bad enough that new o-rings wouldn't work. I assume you saftied them to the wing skin? I've never seen one loosen, but it sure is a lot of peace of mind to know they can't.

Thanks for your response regarding my post. Yes I absolutely saftied them to the tabs on the skin. The first iondication of a problem was fuel staining under the wing, and the left one ran much slower than the right.
Thanks, Joe
