The PO groundlooped my airplane, and tore up the gear. It works pretty well in the 350 hrs that I have put on it, just a little tire wear. I would like to do a total rebuild of the gearbox, and have it done right.
Can anyone recommend a shop capable of doing it? I am in Southwest FL, and looking for the best shop closest to Sarasota.

Gearbox rebuild

You may want to have the axles/tires/gear aligned (with shims)
to see if that will alleviate the abnormal tire wear.
There's only one way to do a gear-box rebuild (the right way!).
The manual says no damage what-so-ever is allowed to the front
and rear gear-box bulkheads.
I guess what I'm saying, is the reason Cessna shimmed the
axles in the 1st place was to take care of "normal" variences
in tolerances as the airplane was built.
It doesn't take much misalignment at the axles to make an
airplane "squirley" and also to wear tires out, but it *is* relatively
easy to fix with a little patience and the right shims.
