SEB 94-8, 172/175 Horiz Stab Fwd Spar Inspection
Old post....but today I discovered a crack on mine in the same area and additional internal spar damage. I need a new spar part number 0332114 but can’t find one. Any suggestions?

Since this was posted in the MX Library I have “split” the thread and moved it to The Hangar.
Moving the airplane around by ground-handling it by the tailfeathers is a common way to damage the horizontal stabilizer and empennage. Using the fuselage, “tail-pull handles” or a tow bar are the best methods.
As mentioned, this SEB does not apply to a C-170…. but the PN your request is the fwd spar of a B-model (and also 170/170A models).
Do you have a pic of the damage?
If you are referring to the fwd spar in a B-model….the corresponding L-19 part is PN 0432115 and Air Repair, Inc, Cleveland, MS might be a source.

Yes George that is the part. Thanks. The damage is old damage and not visible until I removed the horizontal stab, I will get a picture

Forward spar crack at the trim cable inlet hole. Doesn’t appear to be any repairs out there. I should add this was the start of the removal.
