New LED taxi light. I wired it so it flashes with the switch in the taxi position and on steady with the Landing light. My intent is to leave the LED on whenever in flight.

This purchase is not overly exciting, but is a direct result of reading through this forum last winter. I discovered a few horror stories which resulted from broken tail wheel springs and so decided to dig a little deeper into mine. It may still have been okay at 235 hours, but with a best guess of 600-900 landings on it, I decided to have it changed out this spring. Without the advice on this forum, it would never have crossed my mind to check into the life of this part. I especially found entertaining Bruce's travelogue of ferry rides, rental cars, hotel, new wardrobe, etc. which resulted in the past from his broken spring! I'm very much hoping to avoid such adventures of my own.
Thanks to all of you who regularly post with your expertise. Slowly -- very slowly -- I'm learning more and more about this fun airplane.

Dave what a clean looking airplane, the larger spinner just looks right on your plane.

Yes John, I consider myself to be very lucky. The airplane was put into its current condition by its previous owner, a local AME and vintage airplane lover, who continues to perform its maintenance. The 'look' of the current spinner took me awhile to get used to -- I liked the old skull cap look -- but this new one came as part of an O-300-D installation that was in place 2 years before I purchased the airplane. After a few months, however, the new look started to look 'just right'.
Have a great summer.

After a long unsuccessful attempt at converting my 170A and hoping for some follow through from DelAir for the STC and installation kit - which may Never occur - I bought all the parts and pieces for a beautiful converted 170B with all the bells and whistles - fully assembled and ready for action!!
Should have just done this all along like everyone suggested.....

After spending quite a bit of time looking for one of these, I finally found one. Now my door latch will be happy.

A good ide in any case and something I have been meaning to do anyway. I will purchase a hose for the fire extinguisher that Amerex sells seperatly.

New PMA8000BTi audio panel and two new radios. Just finishing up the wiring harness. I plan on installing it while I have the interior out so I can run all the wire and rear headset jacks.
