Hi All,
It is fun learning about the 170, always been in the homebuilt world. I found the PAR36 light does not fit the C170, with the retractable light. I bought a PAR36 from Goodies for Pilots. I spoke to owner, Yamil Q. He does carry the PAR46, which I need but it requires filing off 3 alum 'nubs' on rear rim to fit it [see photo]. He was most helpful, relating he sells the PAR46 for C140s, C170s, the PAR36 for the newer A&B models. He related that he now offers a 'flasher' unit, can be fit in-line with the landing light [see photo]. When you switch it on, the light is constant. It goes into flasher mode when switched again, then goes back into constant light, when switched again. Sounds pretty cool. The size? Smaller than a match box; see photo. Don

Just installed the Goodies for pilots PAR 36 light and the flasher. I like it, its bright and I hope will make me easier to see. Bolted right in to my 170B wing.

Same here! I like the wig-wag function, i just time my switch cycles about 1 sec apart from the landing and taxi switches and i get a perfectly timed wig wag

Any radio interference caused by the light or the flasher?
