Sad news
I am sad. My wife Phyllis who I have known since the 5th grade and married 42 years ago had a first and then second aneurism and passed on January 7th. Friends, family and our church family are being supportive. Right now I cannot even get my mind around wanting or desiring to fly or work.
I completed the G5 installation of the 170A/210 the Sunday before she had the aneurism on Wednesday. And know I cannot even think with any favor of going to the hangar or flying.

You are in my prayers and I know your feelings at this time. Each day will get better but you will never forget and you will have good and bad days.

Jim, there are no magic words, I wish there were. Death is a part of life. Difficult when expected, much harder when not. Every day is a new day. Some will be better than others. Time heals. It will get better though that is hard to see now.

Re: Sad news
MM, you are with family here too.... very sad to hear of your loss. you need time to grieve and for each of us it is so very different. the beauty of the human mind is our ability to remember... take as much time as you need. make sure you don't lose sight of your friends and family, many if not all will be willing to hear your stores, memories of the life you two had. take care.

Jim, I'm so sorry for your loss. Hang in there. It may not seem like it now, but it will get better. Just take it day to day.

Re: Sad news
Jim, so sad to hear your bad news.
My brother went through the same thing with his wife 3 years ago and as it happens so fast, like you, my brother was in shock for sometime.
I was on the flight line in Everett this last week accepting a 787. I asked around for you and now I understand why you were not around. Prayers with you, keep going and I hope we will meet again this summer.

Jim,
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my wife Jan 25, last year. It's not easy, at all. Time will help. I'm TAD to Bremerton for the next 2 weeks, if you'd like to get together to talk with someone outside of your circle, let me know. This weekend would work, just PM your email or number to me.

Re: Sad news
Thanks for the offer, I am just to busy dealing with issues here at home and have very little time. I am not familiar with Navy Acronyms TAD. I had to look it up (TEMPORARY ADDITIONAL DUTY). I am retired Army. We would have been TDY (Temporary Duty)Hawkeyenfo wrote:Jim,

Re: Sad news
Jim , My condolences go out to you. Having lost my father two years ago now, I know the loss of time. I am still dealing with it and it is hard. My aviation activity has been tapered off as well. I used to be at the airport every day. One thing, I learned is that my airplane was still there and it was waiting for me. Please look at the 170 Association and your 170 as a friend. It will always be here so if you have to take the time away, it all understands. When you come back nothing will have changed. Please use these resources to bring happiness back into your life. It is not a replacement but maybe a patch on the broken heart. Try to associate the good things that your aviation experience had on your relationship with your wife. I am sure that your wife would want you to be happy and do the things that make you happy. I am pretty sure that being around airplanes is a big part of your life and she would want you not to change now. She will always be watching you fly from above and not below. Doug
