Lambert's Cafe
"Home of the Throwed Rolls"
Sikeston, MO (KSIK)
http://www.throwedrolls.com/default.asp
Lambert's is about one mile form the airport. Just call UNICOM about ten minutes out and ask for a Lambert's shuttle. The van will be waiting for you. There are usually about 75 people waiting for tables. The driver will walk you in the back door and seat you.
The portions are mongo. One slice of country ham will feed three people. They throw hot, softball size rolls across the room to you. This place looks like a Cracker Barrel from the outside, but it is twice as big inside.
Lambert's has billboards in Kansas over six hundred mile from the cafe. Sikeston is the orignial, but there are two other. One in Ozark, MO. Airpark South (2K2) is right across the road and they most likely have the same shuttle service. Foley, Al has one a few miles north of Jack Edwards (KJKA).
I heard that they do about 50,000 people a year through KSIK airport.
I was born in Sikeston. We went to Lambert's once a month after church. It was in an old house with an addition. We moved away when I was seven, but I still remember the throwed rolls.

Lloyd Stearman Field, Benton KS (1K1). Nice, aviation-themed restaurant on the field. http://www.stearmanfield.com/

Beaumont, KS http://beaumonthotelks.com/ Land on the grass strip and taxi up the city street to the hotel, with designated aircraft parking.

Hutchinson, KS (KHUT). Airport Steakhouse, just below the control tower with a view of the ramp and runways.

Kansas City Wheeler Downtown airport (KMKC) Plenty of succulent BBQ places to choose from (my favorite $100 rack of ribs is at Jack Stacks). Signature Flight Service will take you there & pick you up when you're done.

Lee's Summit Airport KLXT (southeast section of Kansas City, MO) is one of the GREAT airports for a stop.
The mangager, John, is the kindest gentleman, who gave us a free courtesy car for two full days no charge.
Great service, fair fuel price (and they have ethanol-free 91 octane mo-gas) and clean FBO.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I know it was already mentioned on this page, but I visited the Airport Steakhouse on the field in Hutchinson, KS (KHUT) over the holidays. Everyone thought the food was great. You can park right outside the restaurant.
