That IS a bullet spinner. I'll take two, also. (scale) Thanks. When/Where/How Much do I send it?

Old habits die hard, but I do have a few comments.

1. As has been mentioned previously, the prop is way too long. I would make it about 2/3 of the length.
2. The corrugations on the rudder are a bit thick. It would be nice if they were thinner, particularly since they are stylized and not necessarily 100% scale.
3. The vertical line on top of the vertical fin would be served better if it were moved to the upper leading edge of the fin to depict the counterbalance, which all 170s have. He accomplished this well with the caricature.
4. The cowling inlets are indicative of a later model 170B (pressure cowl) to me, at least. It's not a show stopper, but my family having a '52 leaves me with the preference for the air box cowling. The cowl inlets would not be visible from a side view anyway, so it would be interesting to see their omission, particularly since it is essentially depicting only the '53 and '54 because it has rounded rear windows. The '55 and later had the pressure cowling and square rear windows.
5. Having dual venturis on the left and right profiles would not be a bad idea. Having them on the decal, I believe, is more important than where they are (left/right), so both sides would be good.
6. The aileron/flap doesn't match the trailing edge fillet. It would be nice if it aligned a little better.
7. The generalized "170" I think would suffice, rather than model designator. To be honest, I will probably trim the lettering away before application.

I don't mean to be insulting to the artist or anyone else, as I think he has done an amazing job. In my line of work is it customary (required) to nit pick details when proofing artwork. Obviously as a group, we are much more sensitive as a whole, than anyone else to the differences to these airplanes. I also realize that no two airplane, even of the same model, are identical to each other after sixty years.

Thanks for going out of your way to make this opportunity available to us all, Arash.

I didn't read anything in Ryan's post that I disagree with...less the venturis but even that wouldn't hurt my feelings.

This is a cool little project.

Put me in for two orders instead of one and I'll donate the second one to the Association.
It might make a neat door prize to someone someday.

Depending on his equipment, we should talk to the guy about cutting the placards unique to the 170 as well.
They would look real good as cut transfers.

oh and meant Skull Cap spinner vs Bullet. Not that the spinner would hurt my feelings either.

Welll....if you guys are gonna be THAT picky, then remove the mrkr-bcn antenna and get rid of the cheap Narco txdr antenna too!

I LIKE the flap treatment...it gives dimension to the wing. I think he's done a great job and don't need anything else done to it. Thx for looking into this.

I'd be willing to retract all of my comments, if George is willing to get his (and only his) in GREEN.

Put me down for 2 sets - scale version. And let me know how to pay you for them. Or I can just hop over to KHAF sometime and check out your airplane too. (I'm at KCCR)

Thanks,

Going to throw my preference in there. If you don't want the A or B designator that is fine just throw the A and B away. For the folks that want the A or B it will be there. I don't care that much about it being a perfect design. It's gets the point across and most of all the third wheel is in the right place.

Can we also get them with the adhesive on the reverse side in order to apply them to the inside of vehicle windows? If so, I'll take a scale set both ways.

Alternatively, if you wanted the Cessna script, you could get a sign shop to cut out some reverse lettering. A job that small won't cost much, and I know there are several vendors that do vinyl graphics for R/C airplanes that will make them no problem. One website even has an interactive page that allows you to create your own lettering online, giving prices and everything.

Aryana, two points, do not allow intellectual property rights to be transferred and find another graphic artist. There are many out there that will give you bulk rate discount. That guy is stuck on himself. You should see the work my artist did for my ASW-20 glider. Just saying. D
