YUP, that's me in the picture with N3415D, a 1955 170B I purchased in 1984 from an IA in Montana. The price of purchase included a new 1956 paint scheme, interior and engine overhaul. I took delivery in Denver July 2, 1983 at Aprapahoe County Field (now Centennial KAPA) in Colorado and flew it to its new home in Texas. In 2006, I had the plane repainted in the original 1955 scheme and new interior installed in Mena, Arkansas. From Mena AR I flew to Kelowna B.C. Canada for the International Cessna 170 Convention and won "Peoples Choice" Award.

Footnote: N2981D was my first Cessna 170B. I purchased it, with a partner, in Long Beach, California Jan. 17, 1971 and landed in Anchorage, Alaska Jan 26. What a winter flight experience that trip was.

My 170 at the Smithville TX fly in last month. We need to lobby for the ability to upload larger photos!

Mark is referring to being able to upload larger files to the website, not enlarging a picture already uploaded.

Not the best example of a 170B nor the worst, but the old girl still gets plenty of attention when she shows up on a flight line…

There was a short window this year where the wheat was cut, the field was dry, and the manure hadn't been spread yet so I was able to land at my girlfriend's house.

That’s a fly-in I’d like to make someday…. (maybe they dropped me from their mailing list on-purpose…??).
