Fly it to the Chocks!

Post by GAHorn »

How many of us have heard the phrase regarding taildraggers that you must “Fly it all the way to the chocks”...?
I have casually placed a chock in front of a wheel at the pumps ... just like the lineman does in this video. But one chock in front of one wheel, intended to discourage an airplane from rolling forward into the pumps simply isn’t enough to prevent an airplane from pivoting.

Steve Grimsley shared a video with me in an email. He’d taxied up to the fuel pumps for refueling when a gust of wind spun his plane about and nearly took his airplane into the pumps.

An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons. ;)
