Bird Dog Cessna 01 L19

Post by MoonlightVFR »

Just purchased a part for C170B
I purchased a L19 part (door striker) -

Questions I now have about the L 19

How many were mfg ? How many still operational?

Do any ever show up at C170.org gatherings? I am sure they are welcome.

Surprise Ed McMahon was a tail dragger pilot. Decorated!

Now I know "Here's Johnny!" Perhaps he was thinking like a pilot "flare for a landing" Tail dagger.

Our member Bobby Jack Woolley wrote a book on them ; The Bird Dogs available from who else but Amazon among others. He's a vet from Vietnam who feel in love with the aircraft. Last saw Bobby about two years ago, still flying Feeder-Feeder his Fed-ex paint scheme 170 B

For $165,000 you can buy a completely restored L19 from AirRepair. They also provide parts for the L19.
