I know the back side of prop flange gets a mirror inspection to see if a crack has developed but do we need to coat the exposed flange area w anti corrosion material?
What could be applied? Any special technique?
How does your exposed crank look?

Re: Prop Flange
Mine is missing some paint around the edges. I have to pull the prop anyway so I'll have a closer look. Since it's steel I would think you could just CLEAN, prime and paint.

Re: Prop Flange
Here's Continental's recommendations. Obviously, easier to do with the engine disassembled.
