Del,

I know you are busy but very much appreciate you taking some time yesterday morning to chat with me. The adjuster was a great guy. He was easy to talk with and open for discussion. He just treated me like I would have hoped to be treated. I did pass on the word that you asked me to pass on. He chuckled a little and asked me how far away you were from here. He spoke highly of you and your operation. Very pleased with how you do business. I told him you didn't think this one could be hammered out....he said well if anyone could it would be you. :D

Now just waiting on the report to get turned into the insurance company and a decision to be made I guess.

Thanks again for everyone's help,
Justin

That just breaks my heart. But I know you're hurting much more than most of us can imagine. Know this, your 170 family is sharing the loss with you and stand willing to assist in anyway we can.

My apologies flyguy for my failure to reply....I haven't been online in several days. Thank you very much for the kind words and generous offer for a place to stay.

One of 2836C's fuel gauges lives on in 3498C!

Jim,

I sincerely appreciate the thoughts. I did promise an update after everything settled down and the insurance business was done. No complaints with Avemco. They paid me my full insured hull value with no arguments.

As for the hunt there hasn't been much of one. They seem to be higher than they were 4 years ago when I got this one, I needed another 10K on my hull value. 8O
I haven't really dug in and started a real search, to many obstacles right now. Still cleaning up after the tornado, probably a few months out from being able to get a hanger built and I really don't want my new to me plane to set out in the weather for a few months. Time to travel is an issue for me, with very few registered 170's in Arkansas that means hit the road. Then there's the better half, she's convinced that my need to get back in the air is not anywhere close to the top of the priority list these days. However if GOD sends me the right airplane at the right price I'm thinking there will have to be some executive override measure taken. It was interesting that I bumped into the guy that loaned me the money for 28C (which has now moved to a new bank) last night and almost the first thing out of his mouth is when are you going to come see me about getting that new plane. My heart started pounding....I miss it dearly.

Not sure why it seems easier to keep something you have then to get something you want.

I am surely glad it is and I am hopeful that it treats you well until you can get yours back from the rebuild shop.

Justin, my gauge did finally come back from the rebuild shop, but contrary to information from another member, they were unable refurbish the dial. They did an excellent job of cleaning the rust off of the mechanism, and it works nice and smooth, but if it were installed it would look no better than yours, so I'm just going to leave yours installed and keep mine as a spare.
