No, I had to stay with the standard and do some modification to accommodate the fuel injection return line. So not a good example of how to mount them. Even mounted as they are the are great!

I've had Rosens for years and really like them. Orginally didn't have the $75 articulating feature. After a couple of yrs got them--money well spent. You will like them

Have wanted these SOO bad but can't bring myself (or rather my IA) to drill the mounting holes.

Let us know how it goes!

PS - My wife hates the static slap ons that I use!

Needed an assist strap attach bracket. Scored these 2 handles with brackets on FleeBay!

Now I just need to replace the leather wraps and sell the rest of the stuff that was in the box!

Good one, Kyle! Glad I didn't see those or I might have unknowingly bid against you. :)

I finally had a chance to install my UMA mainfold pressure gauge this afternoon.
It looks great other than the panel cover obscuring the upper markings.
Anyone else have this problem?

Andre,
Is there enough room between the stationary panel and the panel cover to mount the manifold pressure gauge on the front of the stationary panel? On the early 170b panel it appears that this is how Cessna may have mounted the stall warning buzzer/light. (Unless one drills out the captive nuts on the buzzer though, it is impossible to mount from the front).

The panel cover is already faced up to the instrument like it should be. I guess I'll try removing a little material with a sanding drum and see it that helps.
Thanks for the help guys. :D

The same stuff from HomeDepot can be installed with a simple logbook entry.
And for the same money, I could replace the step tape on every 170 I've ever seen - twice.

Mine are painted with the gritty paint right now which has held up well for 3 years.
Arish,
That is the way mine are done although the color is black, the of the stuff was left over from painting the deck of the USS Maine (which by the way Blueldr and I served on).

Randolph "Wing Walk" paint works great.

The Home Depot anti-skid strips I put on my steps wore off very quickly. I'll try the paint as soon as the box of 20 strips is gone!

johneeb,

I was serving as an exchange officer on the USS Maine but spent most of the time in the bars in Havana. Had a helluva time getting transportation back to Key west after the damn thing sank. The old fisherman that Hemingway wrote about finally took me.
