We've been looking for a place that we have not been before and transportation would not be a problem, so let's try Graham. https://www.airnav.com/airport/KRPH

We can park in front of the FBO at the NW corner of the airport and it is a short walk across the highway to Clayton's BBQ. Here is a link to their website which includes their menu: http://www.claytonsbbq.com/home

Also, you may want to check fuel prices before you go. Graham quite often has one of the cheaper 100LL fuel prices in that part of Texas.

Let's please try to arrive prior to 11:00 am. We hope everyone can make it.

If you have questions/suggestions please contact Ken Peck at 512-468-7790 or c170ken@earthlink.net

We couldn't make it as we had out-of-town houseguests. Did anyone witness the above feat-of-courage?

The feat of great courage didn’t happen! Did my pre flight, rolled 83C out and pulled the pickup in and shut the doors ... Not enough battery to start. Remembered a propping incident in St. Louis and pushed her back in the hangar and drove to Graham! We had 16 for lunch with several of the regulars and some I hadn’t met before. One of the airline types I ride motorcycles with rode up from Ft. Worth.

If I'd been there, I would have held the brakes for you!

Instruct the passenger how to turn a key to the OFF position while holding the brakes! If all alone... tie the tail down and carry your pistol. (So that after you climb aboard you can shoot the rope in-two like Doggy Kline!.)

I apologize for taking so long, but here a few pictures of the fine people that attended the fly-in to Graham on November 17th, and a short text.
November 17th 16 members and guests met at Graham, TX KRPH and eat at Clayton's BBQ. Good food, good service and great friends. It was also a beautiful day. Seven airplanes flew in, four of them being Cessna 170s. Those attending were: Kelly & Matt Keller, Craig Lunpquist, Paul & Debra Wood, Joe Gamertsfelder, David & Ruth Bengtson, Bob & Robert Jolley, Ken Peck, John Bowen, Naomi Goodlett, Jim Bernier, Mark Morris and Rusty Morris.

Ed, I guess I've gotten lazy by using my iPhone with spell ck or whatever they call it. A text would, hopefully have said "battery tinder". However, a large % of my texts contain words I never intended thanks to the auto correction or spell check. I've learned, somewhat, to ck my texts before sending them as it can be embarrasing what sometimes comes out. Anyway, that thingie that keeps the battery charged
