Texas May 5th Stephenville KSEP

Doesn't seem like it, but it has been two years since we flew into Stephenville for lunch with our C170 friends. Our members and guests have always enjoyed eating at the The Hard 8 BBQ https://hardeightbbq.com/menu/ (yum yum, look at that menu) and Stephenville Clark Regional Airport http://www.airnav.com/airport/KSEP is fairly centrally located for many of our members.

For those who may drive, the address for the Hard 8 is:1091 Glen Rose Rd, and the airport is right across the road. The restaurant normally fills up at lunch time, so if we can arrive and tie down prior to 11:00 am, perhaps we can be ahead of the larger crowd.

For questions or suggestions please contact Ken Peck at 512-468-7790 or c170ken@earthlink.net.

I’d love to make this as my first fly in with my “new” 170A. Converting the prebuy into an annual hopefully early this week. Then have to ferry up to T31 (our new home) from Houston. Many firsts with this one. New to Texas as of yesterday, first airplane and first 170.

Saturday April 22nd, was a beautiful CAVU day in North Texas. The perfect day for Cessna 170 Association members and guests to meet at Stephenville, KSEP, for some of the best BBQ around. There was a good turn-out of wonderful people and Cessna 170s. Everyone appreciated the opportunity to visit, discuss the 170 and of course, great food. Also we were able to enjoy seeing a 170 that had not been to one of our monthly fly-ins for approximately 25 years. That was a treat to see. Attending the fun day were: Bob Edmondson, Karl Towle, Naomi Goodlett, Paul & Debra Wood, Ken Peck, Rusty Morris, John & Jan Bowen, Robert Jolley, Bob & Patricia Jolley, Henry & Lola Ehrlick, Dooley Rucker, Steve Armand, and Jim & Judy Bernier.

Sorry to have missed it! But Jamie was substituting for the H.S. coach during P.E. on Friday and got hit in the eye with a frisbee. I'd post a pic but it'd only scare the daylights out of you. (Our son Tracy tried to make lite of it by joking that she could make extra money this week as a horror-movie extra... 8O It's pretty bad to look at...)

The doctor says her eye will take about 3 weeks but should recover. It's difficult to imagine when viewing it. She's a strong and caring girl and her first thought after the exam was to text the school admin to please send words of comfort to the child who caused the injury that she will be OK. )

Next time!

Wow George, that sounds like a close call. Tell Jamie we're all praying for her full recovery. We had a great time, and wish you both could have been there, instead of biting nails in an ophthalmologist's office!

I promised Ken I'd post a group picture, annotated with names, so here it is.

Oh BTW, here's a picture of Paul's airplane in flight. I managed to sneak up on him on our way home (just kidding) and Steve took some in-flight pix.

Now George, you know very well that red doesn't make an airplane go any faster. MONEY make$ an airplane go faster!

Sorry George, I can't resist. Money is gold or silver in color. The green stuff in your wallet is debt. But that's another story (c1913).
