L-19 Eyebolt-Tail Wheel

Post by 170C »

For anyone wishing to purchase a new L-19 tie down bolt (with welded ring), these are still available from Air Repair, Inc, Cleveland, MS. Phone # 662-846-0228; P# 0642105; Cost-$26.50 *

*By the time I received mine, adding a "convenience fee (credit card)" $1.12 and shipping (in a small cushioned envelope) $10.70, the overall cost turned out to be $38.32. Pretty pricey for an attachment bolt, but considering how important that bolt is, I guess its not too bad. It is considerably more expensive than the one I purchased in the early 2000's. My original one is probably ok, but since I am planning to go through my Scott 3200 and replace any worn/damaged parts I thought I might as well put in a new bolt since mine has been retorqued numerous times.

Frank, seeing that you had to re-torque the bolt, it would be interesting to see upon bolt removal whether it had "necked" and to what extent by measuring. Maybe you could post a pic if you find its been damaged in any way.

Jim, I'll measure the used bolt and compare it to the new one. If there is any visible necking I'll post a picture or send a photo to you so you can do so. I seem to be technically challenged when it comes to posting photos on our site
