Just read ; C170 with two on board crashed on takeoff from Whitehorse. Two dead. Were on way to Alaska. Anyone from here?

The aircraft had been purchased recently [25th May]in Minnesota and was being flown to anchorage . The 2 guys flying worked for the forest service .

Deceased are : Charles Benson of Palmer , AK> and Jeffrey Babcock of Wasilla.

According to news sources:
National Park Service spokesman Peter Christian says Babcock was in charge of the agency's aviation program and oversaw about 15 pilots and 20 aircraft.
Benson was regional safety manager for the agency in Alaska.

Looks like it may be as late as November before the investigation is completed.
This is a class 4 investigation. These are limited-scope investigations that may contain limited analysis, but do not include findings or recommendations. Class 4 investigations are generally completed within 200 days.
