Oil Sump

Post by 170C »

Anyone have a good photo of an oil sump that’s off an engine? Would like to see overall and the carburetor boss are inside the sump.

I've got an old one that had a leak still in the hangar. Try to get a pic of it for you. What angles would you like? It is off an O300C engine if that makes any difference.
Keep your speed up, Blackhawk on final behind you.

Appreciate the offer! Your sump photo will be fine. Interior of all sumps should be identical. I've seen them before, but have forgotten how high the boss for the carburetor sticks up . Always concerned about possible corrosion forward of the boss. You can post the photo here on the forum or email it to me. Whatever is easiest.

Frank, look at the "Oil Sump Inspection" thread for a picture.
