1948-170 Landing light

Post by mike.bernath »

The switch panel has a labeled switch for the landing light. However the aircraft wasn’t optioned for it. How big of a chore is this going to be and are there options available besides splitting the fabric open? It would be nice to have a landing light. Thanks!

In earlier days, you could install a leading edge light based on the similarity to the ones installed on the A and B models, using a 337. There is one 337 on file at the TIC170A web page in the MX section. Not sure if the average FAA inspector will sign off on those any more without a DER approval, as they have gotten very unhelpful in this regard.
