Auto Valve oil drain valve

Post by rickyricky2 »

Hi All
Has anyone changed the small shut off o-ring in a Auto Valve BJ1000AHS4X. It appears to be a square o-ring. Mine works but it is out and this is the time to change it.
It looks like a round o-ring would work but I want to do this right.

Thanks

When you say square I assume you mean in section? I have seen many O rings that have flats on the section from long periods of compression.

Is it possible that this was a regular o ring that has been deformed?

Just a guess from me, please don't take this as advice.

There are such things as square (in section) o-rings. I do not know what is suppose to be on the valve in question.

My thoughts when I replaced my o-ring was that it was a square type o-ring. I replaced with a special oil round o-ring.

If you have a Saf-Air S1000 in a Continental it takes 2 - MS28775-011 o-rings and 1 - MS28775-012

For the Saf-Air chart for what you should have for a particular engine:

For the o-ring(s) for the valve you should have:
