McCauley 1A170/DM7651 Prop needed

Post by Bojaz »

I sent my McCauley 1A170/DM7655 prop off to be overhauled and re-pitched to 51, and the prop shop Red Tagged it. They stated corrosion in the bolt holes. Now I'm looking for a replacement prop. I would prefer a freshly overhauled, or I will pay for the overhaul.

Does anyone have one taking up space in their hangar? Thanks Big Time,

Dave

Hi, Dave!
Ordinarily your Ad for a prop for sale would be deleted as it violates our Forum Rules (since you are apparently not an Assoc'n Member, and Ads should be placed in "TradeMart")... but the post does contribute value to our maintenance "Hangar" in pointing out that prop hubs should be inspected at annual inspection, especially in old airplanes and even more importantly in those airplanes subjected to outdoor storage. Corrosion, cracks, bolt integrity and torque are important aspects of an annual inspection.
