For what it's worth, yesterday I was working on the rudder pedals and brake arms, etc. and discovered all the fighting done to get the cotter pin out - then back in could be done MUCH easier if one simply removes the AN3 bolt that goes through the base of the rudder pedal, then slide the pedal off it's stub. Everything then moves around freely and is much simpler to take apart/reassemble the parts.

Of course, the parts are old with lots of slop in the holes, and perhaps new parts would not have so much free play available...
