Dawley just made mine (right side) and I'm happy with it. They did not do it all in one piece but welded the tail bend. But the weld is under the cowl so not seen. If you go with it, I'd suggest being sure they get the angle of the bend out the muffler is correct as that affects the space between the pipe and the hanger. Mine is not 90 deg but more like 110. I had to extend the vertical about 2 inches so that the pipe was in the right position at the horizontal hanger. I don't have an STC but an old field approval. I also think it is not the Bartone but the Benham as shown by Miles. All in all, it worked out well and I'm satisfied.

I've got a reasonable mfr's bid on them...and am awaiting a discussion with Pat Bartone before proceeding.

Hey George-
Any way to expedite this process? I'm getting ready to take my plane to Del for a baggage door installation and I would really like to cover up those cowl holes while he has it in his shop.

There seems to be a lot of interest in this STC, would it make sense for the C170 Assoc. to acquire the STC from Pat if he is no longer interested in supporting it?

I'm pretty sure Pat is not interested in selling to the 170 Association.
