Factory Technique Deglaze Cleveland Brake Rotors

Post by MoonlightVFR »

Cleveland 30-63 A 6 inch brake rotor kit. installed C 170B sn 26433 . Conversion from orig Goodyear cross wind wheel brakes.
brakes totally serviced. Lubed , new parts as needed.

After slight use right brake action was very poor. Rotor appeared glazed. Micrometer thickness above factory .205
thickness.

I phoned Parker Cleveland Tech Services . 800-272-5464 Leave message they will return call.

Two days later did receive response from "Vernon". He listened emphatically.

There is a factory prescribed technique for deglazing rotors/pads. Use rough sandpaper both side rotor surfaces.
Deglaze brake pads too. After deglazing you must "break in " the components as thought they were NEW.
