Is there a lock tumbler hole that's taped over? (Mine simply has a key lock only way to open - not the slick push button opener).

Looks to me like you guys had a great trip!
The pad lock brackets are chrome, so we decided to install them after paint. Paul, have you decided if you a key operated padlock or a combination lock?

Here's mine with the lock installed.

Del, assuming both cylinders use the same key blank, do have a locksmith who can match the baggage lock to the ignition key?

I can answer that.... Del knows a locksmith who did it for mine.... but for some reason he charged me a CASE OF BECKS DARK for the service. 8O

Whooo-booooyyysss!~ I am sooo glad to see you guys getting the bag doors!
It is one of the two best mods that can be done to this airplane! I can't believe I spent so much time worrying over whether to do it or not... and cannot imagine ever doing without one again!

For those of you who plan to consider it in the future, don't overlook the 180/185 airplanes as sources for baggage door parts, as some of those models do not utilize the external locks and latches. They are operated via a pushbutton inside the left, cabin door jamb (should you wish that option.)

Mine is going in next month! Gonna be a real trick to match the paint as I have no codes.
For the key, I planned on just opening it up and swapping out the pins to match the doors.

Color matching shouldn't be a problem with computer-capable paint products. They can scan a portion of existing paint (pick a place that you can carrry in such as an inspection cover or fairing, etc. to scan) and they can match it perfectly with a custom mix.

You mean like the big hole I'll cut for the baggage door?

My Dad has an autobody repair shop and has to match paint pretty often. The computer scanners do help but white is tough to get right.
We'll be test painting a few samples to be safe

4583C has not been very high on my priority list for several weeks now but Del sent me something today that perked me up.

I guess Del thinks it wouldn't be good form to let 98C catch up with 83C. :D

I made my camper reservation yesterday. I think the girl told me we were number 12 in the campground.
