Re: They're coming....

I had a friend who used a rc helicopter for shooting pictures for real estate people until he was shut down by the feds a few years ago. Its interesting they have the 4 Pound limit. RC guys are allowed 25 pounds and must stay under 400 ft. But like cloud clearance distances and private pilots most ...

Re: 170B in Merced, CA Area

I sincerely appreciate the replies, guys. I appreciate everyone's insight and honesty regarding my crazy request. Again, I am NOT looking for a cheap way to own a 170. This is a project and I fully accept the fact that I will not come out ahead. I want to do something like this for the pure enjoymen...

Re: Outline cross section views of the 170B

Arash, What do/did you fly? I work for Horizon Hobby. Glad to see someone posted these, I posted a month or so ago to no avail. I seem to recall that same 3-view in a small, dark green, hardback book on single engine Cessnas that my father gave me. To the OP, FWIW, I have large Berkely plans on my c...

170B in Merced, CA Area

Hello all, I was looking to see if there were some pictures anywhere that anyone had taken of my family's 170B that we sold several years ago, and found myself on airliners.net looking for pictures. While searching through there, I stumbled upon a picture of a derelict 170B sitting in the edge of a ...

Drawings?

Hello all, I was curious if anybody knows where some accurate drawings and design info are for the 170? I am looking to build a scale model of one (I work for Horizon Hobby, one of the world's largest R/C distributors and manufacturers) for my own use. I am particularly interested in the B models, a...

Bruce,

If there is an accurate drawing of a 1953 color scheme, I would be interested in that. How would I go about getting one?

Re: Instrument Panel Upgrade

Kyle,

I was curious if you had completed the panel overlay for your airplane? I really like your panel layout, and would love to see how the HSI cutout and trim ring ended up looking. Thanks!

Re: Loran is OUT... GPS is IN.... well.....

George,

What year did Cessna begin to put the chrome emblems on the glovebox? Our '52 didn't have a glovebox, but I if I get a chance to buy it back, I'd like to put on in it. It looks very nice, and give a finishing touch.

Thank you!

Re: C-170 Aiplanes With Cont.IO-360 Engines

Hello guys, This is my first post here, and I'm just posting out of curiosity. My family owned a 1952 Cessna 170B (N2256D, SN20408) essentially since I was born (I'm 23), however due to the lack of us flying and me being fairly involved with model airplanes, my father sold here in October of 2008. I...
