Re: Angle of Attack Instrumentation
With our venturi systems, I know my airspeed indicator is a little bouncy at slow speeds, and AOA tells you when your wing will actually stop flying. Normal everyday flying I'd expect to not really need AOA, but I'm starting to test some backcountry style short strip approaches where AOA would be an...

Re: Angle of Attack Instrumentation
I purchased the iLevel BOM to install that gives me NORSEE approval and provide ADS-B in, AOA, and AHRS data to run on my ipad. I just created the install bracketry and hope to have it calibrated and flying on the plane by then end of the year. I'll report back what i find.

Re: ADS-B Rebate re-introduced and tailBeacon info
i signed up for the second offering of the rebate and put my order in for the uAvionix wingtip skybeacon. I would have gone with the tailbeacon but it was not listed on the FAA Rebate page.

Re: LED upgrade landing light
Miles,
I haven't noticed anything either, but I will say I mostly only turn on for T/O and return to the airport, so not many chances to check.

Same here! I like the wig-wag function, i just time my switch cycles about 1 sec apart from the landing and taxi switches and i get a perfectly timed wig wag

Re: B&C Alternator?
There is an STC for it for the small continentals through the O-300.

I don't know if that's the same one that the B&C website talks about or not.

Re: Master light and oil pressure gauge connection
Richard, if i do that, then I'll have a hole to replace my larger vacuum gauge, which i could probably use to put the remote head unit of the ADS-B system i bought, which will require the addition of the the GPS antenna and more wiring change. Which will ultimately lead to a full panel rework- and h...

Re: Master light and oil pressure gauge connection
Well, I guess I won't worry about it any more , other than to leave it there so there's not a big 1" hole in my panel. Looking through the 100 series manual, someone must have adapted the early 172 set up at some point in the life of the airplane...probably the same time that altimeter that had...

Re: Master light and oil pressure gauge connection
I talking about the big red diamond bulb at the 6 o'clock position on the instrument cover right below the DG. When the master switch is on it illuminates. I thought it went out when the volt meter went to charge, but i was a little taken back when i saw the one post of the light went to the oil pre...

Re: Master light and oil pressure gauge connection
Looks original but I’d have to go look for a P/N to be sure, problem is that it was working fine before I updated the wire, I just thought that since I had to pull the master light and disconnect the wires that it was an easy “preventative maintenance” action...didn’t intend to make more work for my...
