Re: cockpit logo

FWIW, I bought one of these on ebay (item #331763037096) and it looks great! It is all stainless and comes with double sided adhesive that doesn't look like adhesive, so don't throw it away! He has them listed at $50, I made a best offer of $40 and he countered at $45 which is what I paid.

Oh yeah! Still loving it after a year. Lots of complements, too! He uses documented flame retardant materials, too.

Re: Flying Phonomena

Anybody else notice that those funny sounds and feelings seem to get worse with age, too? Back when I started flying at the age of 16 I never noticed them. But now that the digits have reversed and I'm 61 I hear and feel them way more often! Must be my sharpened senses over the years!!

Re: fuel gage float

You'll have to file down or otherwise flatten the end of the wire then pound it flat again after sliding the float on. Be SURE to get the end of the wire flattened out large enough to retain the float. You don't want it coming off and floating around your tank! Don't ask me how I know this!!

Re: New Member Old Plane

I haven't taken delivery yet. Trying maybe this weekend or next. I'm not really small airplane current so I am waiting till a colleague of mine has the same days off. for now the home base will be KIPJ. Or Lincoln NC. Just to the north west of Charlotte. I like a good mix of things, like 70% workin...

Re: Triple Tree Fly In

To me, the most desirable area to park in is just to the south of the tower near the pavilion and bath house. If you arrive on Wednesday or Thursday you should be able to park there. As the weekend progresses, the parking moves more to the north end of the field with planes stretched all the way to ...

Re: A&P/IA for pre-buy inspection

I would recommend Russell Hyde at Plane Werks in Rutherfordton, NC. He is an A&P IA and I've been using him for the past 4 years for my 170B. His number is (828) 286-1474. He not only works on old airplanes but owns and flies them himself.

Good luck,
Joe

Re: New Interior for the Mistress!

Thanks, Bigrenna! I just realized that I never answered your question about the belts, Swixtt! The fronts are part of the Cessna service kit (SK170-12C1) that I installed in 2010 that includes shoulder harnesses. Bought it from Yingling for about $200, shipped. I love it, BTW, and heartily re...

Re: New Interior for the Mistress!

Thanks to all for the kind comments! The seats are leather and the side walls are vinyl with the red leather as the insert. I can't tell the difference just by looking at them, but my wallet noticed! All materials have burn cert paperwork. I was lucky to have such a talented guy living so close. I'd...
