Re: Oil Suppliers hijacked to motorcycles (split thread)

Thanks Richard! Neat machine. I had a little pumpkinseed that would do just under 30 and that felt like much much more when kneeling and low to the water. Can't imagine what that cart would feel like at highway speeds, much less something faster! Great story too to get it restored by the original bu...

Re: Weighing my 170B Couple Questions

If it were me, I’d subtract 15 pounds for the oil (7.5 lbs to the gallon). :!:

Re: This is why I own my 170!

With the Wx forecast to be above freezing I thought it appropriate to fly yesterday. It would’ve been my Dad’s 90 birthday had he been alive. He’s the one who got me hooked on flying. He had owned a C170 and it was a reason Becky and I bought one as well. So I’m out putttering around yesterday check...

Congrats Paul!

The bird sure looks good but that feeling of accomplishment is truly priceless.

Hope you can continue to build on that and gain confidence!

Welcome!

What part of IA you in? Sounds like the DM area maybe?

Re: One Landing Light or two?

Note:

I was told that the flood from goodiesforpilots comes with a pigtail while the landing has the normal 2 screws on the back.

As a result, you may have to do some wiring mods to the taxi light.

Re: One Landing Light or two?

I think this has been touched on before but goodiesforpilots has replacement LEDs. For about a hundred bucks you can get a flood taxi light as well as a spot light plus the flasher to wig-wag a light.

I've seen the taxi light and was impressed.

Re: Cessna 170 Fuel Gauge Bobber/Cork sealant

Is there a simple way (other than pulling the gauge) to ID whether it's the float versus the magnets causing erratic readings?

Would the gauge always show empty if the cork was gas logged while if it's the magnets it is erratic possibly?

Re: Replace Rear Seat Bolts

I keep looking for the linch pin style (push button to T handle with the little balls that retract) so I'm not always trying to replace the small keeper hairpin that's inserted through the clevis hole which I cannot see.

Been googling but just not yet found the proper size......

Dick Lemmon - gone West

I hadn't seen nor heard from Blueldr for quite some time. A search turned up this info from the Yellow Pine news that he passed away last February 2017. He had many stories and knowledge. I'll miss his sense of humor. ——————————- RIP: Dick Lemmon Dick (aka Blue Leader) Lemmon passed away Feb. 25th a...
