Re: N4180V flies again after 5 years
Well done. No one expects these projects to take as long as they do, but I bet the final result is well worth the trauma.

Re: Tailwheel shimmy dampener
Not sure my post was clear. I have two complete tailwheels. I have zero shimmy problems with a regular 3200 and the cheap tire from Spruce. Nothing works for the baby bushwheel on pavement except being super slow. I have heard that replacing the baby bushwheel with a glider tire helps, but I have no...

Re: Tailwheel shimmy dampener
I’m surprised that the demo video does not show a baby bushwheel. None of the usual solutions to calm shimmy seem to work unless I put the tailwheel down at a very low speed. It will even shimmy taxiing fast. I have not tried the glider tire which some say is better. I assume this is their target ma...

Re: Does anyone have an EI FP5L fuel computer?
I found the manual to be a little hard to understand. Or maybe the manual was written for smarter people. It sounds to me like you have it calibrated for whole gallons rather than 0.1 gallons. Somewhere I think you can change that? Overall I like it, especially for leaning. I have a UBG16 as well, b...

Re: Landing Gear Clunk/Lifting Plane
lots on lifting the plane in here. My go to method is a webbing strop a few wraps around the gear leg (mind the brake line) and an engine hoist. It feels the most secure.

Re: Orange Goop Explosion in Engine?
I ran a scat hose to the new generator that I installed on my O-300.I just felt better having something hooked up to that cooling fitting on the generator.
No idea if it helped, but it ran fine until I pulled it. Pretty easy to do from almost straight above the generator.

I watched that one also. I think he did a great job, I hope I would react as well. I assume the engine builder has some digging to do?

Re: Alternator or Generator?
That sucks, and should not have happened. I have a ford alternator (at least I think I still do) that you can have, and I may have a regulator. Its really big and heavy. wiring is required to switch to an alternator. An alternator will not charge from a totally flat battery, a generator will. I thin...

Isn’t that an A1A with different mags? Pretty sure Delaire STC covers that.
