Re: Stratux ADS-B
Thanks for the suggestions. Flashing might be like flashing an old type voltage regulator? I'll consult my friend who helps me with vrs aircraft/automotive, etc projects. If unsuccessful I may op for the Sentry Mini unit. Its small, reasonably inexpensive ($300) and does what I need.

Re: Stratux ADS-B
I watched some utube videos also. I chose not to attempt to reflash the old sd card and purchased a new one instead thinking it wouldn’t need reflashing. Getting a new card was even an option to reflashing the old one.(Don’t know what reflashing is — maybe like rebooting?)

Stratux ADS-B
My unit quit working so I purchased a new SD card and replaced the old one. The new one gave me a website to go to for installation instructions. One of those hppt sites which, for me, rarely work--won't open. Anyone happen to have a suggestion how I might correct this? http://products.stratux.me/sd...

Re: New European member and future owner to be
Welcome aboard! You have joined a great organization with much information that will be helpful. While not as necessary in your country as it is in many areas of the US, getting rid of the non opening window on the passenger door is definitely a BIG +. Send us some photos.

Re: My Ex “170C”
I have the same Bolen STC on my '56 172 as does my friend nearby. Both have Bolen's main landing gear. Apparently he had it made specially for his STC as its not the original 172, 170, L19, or 180 gear. Its arched different and is a heavier gear than 170 gear.

Sure would be nice to get rid of that non opening co-pilot window. Maybe the new owner will have you do it for them.

Re: TX Ranger Old School Fly-in, Oct 2-4, 2020
I had several occasions to land at Ranger prior to Jared's taking over the airport. I have been to three of his fly ins and each has been enjoyable. I remember when about half of the floor in the hangar was brick. I don't recall if they were local made bricks or Thurber bricks. At the last fly in I ...

Re: Rear Pax Headset Jack Locations
I mounted mine on the bulkhead just behind the rear window. I believe its the same bulkhead where the rear seat support is attached I I remember. One jack above the other and they are just above the top of the seat back. This way they are out of sight except for the female receptacle and things on t...

Re: F&M Oil filter adapter AND THREAD DRIFT-LOL
When I lived in Aledo and Fort Worth, TX I would visit the Carter-Ivy Mercantile/Hardware store on north main st in Weatherford, TX. It was a true, old time store like those mentioned here. If they didn’t have it, you didn’t need it! Began in 1907 and I think it went out of business in 2007 when the...

Re: Master Cylinder filler plugs
Couple of years ago I purchased a handful of those plugs from Spruce. I don't recall if they had the small hole drilled in them or not, but if not its a simple deal to drill one. (For a '56 C-172)

Re: Siliconized fabric for cabin bug holes
Hopefully you will get some responses that will be helpful. In my opinion someone went to a lot of unnecessary effort. The amount of air that sealing all those "bug holes" might stop wouldn't be worth the effort. All Cessna's of our vintages have these openings and I have never had any iss...
